Get a taste for Rock-n-Roll to Feed the Soul

Radiating from central Kentucky come The Mighty Jeremiahs and Taildragger, a unique and tasteful mixture of rootsy rock, blues, boogie, gospel, soul, a spoonful of jazz, and just a pinch of country and bluegrass. With an extensive menu of influences ranging from ZZ Top to Merle Travis, Johnny Winter to Son House, Mountain to Howlin' Wolf, Rev. James Cleveland to The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd to Otis Redding, Hydra to Bobby Womack, The Staple Singers to Sam Cooke, Steve Cropper to Little Feat, Muddy Waters to Aretha Franklin, Robert Johnson to Carl Perkins and the list goes on, this is truly a soulful, musical burgoo that is sure to fulfill any eclectic music-lovers appetite.

The Mighty Jeremiahs include Mobile, Alabama born vocalist/harmonica player/saxophonist Jimmy Hall (founding member of the seminal southern group Wet Willie, member of the Capricorn Records family and vocalist on Jeff Beck's 1985 "Flash" album), guitarist Greg Martin (founding member of the Grammy-winning Kentucky HeadHunters who also subbed for Ed King in Lynyrd Skynyrd on the 1992 tour), and former Black Cat Bone rhythm section Mark Hendricks (bass) and Jon McGee (drums). Blending a heaping-helping of featured guest appearances by Bonnie Bramlett, members of The Kentucky HeadHunters, Delbert McClinton Band keyboardist Kevin McKendree, Ricky Lee Phelps, Phil Keaggy, Canadian soul man Danny Brooks, Curtis and Ricky Burch, Darrell Mansfield and many others, the soon-to-be-released debut from The Mighty Jeremiahs is a delectable, southern-fried version of Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs and Englishmen.

Guitarist/vocalist/drummer Jon McGee and bass guitarist/vocalist Mark Hendricks head up Taildragger, Kentucky's premier rock-n-roll power trio. Formed from the ashes of Black Cat Bone in the early 90's, Taildragger continues to forge their blues-laden sound throughout the region. Sharing the bill with the likes of Southern Culture on the Skids, Mojo Nixon, Derek Trucks Band, Govt Mule, NRBQ, Shaver, Storyville (Double Trouble), Junior Brown, and many others, Taildragger never fails to level any chicken house in a fifty-mile radius with their energetic brand of roots rock. Their soon-to-be-released "Skeptic Tank" is more proof of their unique approach to cooking up a classic rock-n-roll dish with a familiar flavor. Guest musicians adding extra spice to Taildragger's sophomore studio release is Kentucky Headhunters/Mighty Jeremiahs member Greg Martin, along with Kevin McKendree, Danny Brooks, Rob Hulsman and Ken Weber. Co-produced by Greg and studio whiz, David Barrick, Taildraggers new release is sure to pack a wallop!

Kentucky sits smack-dab-in-the-middle of an American roots-music buffet. Borrowing musical ingredients made famous in neighboring regions like Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, Memphis, the Mississippi Delta, New Orleans, Nashville, Atlanta, Austin and New York, Kentuckys recipe for music takes on a special flavor of its own like Mom's best soul food. Paradigm Shift Productions (in partnership with ear X-tacy® records) was formed to explore and embrace the diverse, country-blues rock roots of central Kentucky. With that in mind, sit back, relax, turn your stereo on 10 and imagine "Dixie" blasted through a stack of Marshall amps! This music was played through vintage gear, recorded on magnetic recording tape and made to be played loud. We're serving you up a sampler platter from the upcoming Ear X-Tacy Records/Paradigm Shift Productions CD releases of The Mighty Jeremiahs and Taildragger, and a side dish of rare goodies from the Paradigm Shift Productions cupboard.

Enjoy! (Hear samples - Real Audio)
